“A Common Thread” Fashion Aid Foundation

The new chairman of CFDA, Tom Ford, together with Anna Wintour of Vogue, finally launched fundraising for fashion businesses affected by the pandemic. Initially, it started in 2003 to aid in 9/11’s impact on the fashion industry. “A Common Thread” has been helping the fashion field for years, and up until this year, the CFDA repurposed it with the same mission to help the fashion community. The program’s initiative aims to gather donations and raise funds and share stories and raise awareness

Interestingly, they launched a series on social media with the hashtag #CVFFACommonThread featuring stories on how COVID-19 impacted their lives as designers and artists, including Phillip Lim, Batsheva Hah, Reese Cooper, Jennifer Miller and Aurora James.

Ralph Lauren generously donated USD 1 million to “A Common Thread”; in addition to that, the RL Foundation pledged a total of USD 10 million as their form of commitment to help its communities affected by the pandemic. Donate online and help the fashion community via CFDA’s official website.
