From New York, for New York. Another contemporary graffiti artist from New York, Leonard Hilton McGurr, famously known as Futura 2000, contributed significantly alongside notable artists of their time. Futura 2000, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Kenny Scharf intended to cover the streets and subways of New York to its galleries.
With his abstraction, blending text and imagery, he went further to create backdrops on live stages for punk rock concerts. He continued to become a successful graphic designer and gallery artist. He has made several album covers and produced collectible toys, sneakers, a diverse range of creative media collaborative efforts with Nike, Recon, The North Face, Medicom Toy, Supreme, Levi’s, A Bathing Ape, and Undercover.
Gaining extreme popularity and his much love for designs, he also launched his own clothing label Futura Laboratories, located in Fukuoka, Japan.
